In one of the Lieutenancy’s highlights from last month, on Saturday 21 February, Deputy Lieutenant Tom Shebbeare DL represented His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire at a special concert in Oxford Town Hall celebrating 80 years of the Oxford-Leiden Twinning Link.
Musicians and singers from Leiden travelled to Oxford for the occasion, hosted by families across the county, in a wonderful example of the longstanding friendship between the two cities. Under the impressive baton of John Lubbock of the Oxfordshire Schools’ Symphony Orchestra, the performers filled the Town Hall for a truly memorable musical celebration.
A fitting tribute to eight decades of cultural exchange, friendship and collaboration between Oxford and Leiden.
