Alison Derham

Alison Derham DL has been a Deputy Lieutenant for Oxfordshire since 2022. She is part of the Lieutenancy team focused on West Oxfordshire and is the Lieutenancy’s link to Charlbury and Woodstock. A member of the Lieutenancy’s Honours and Awards Committee, Alison also holds the Lieutenancy’s education brief for the County.

Alison has built a career in teaching over the last forty years, specialising in teaching pupils with special educational needs. She is always keen to ensure equal access to opportunities in education and has worked on a variety of projects to achieve this, including volunteering her time with schools and orphanages in India and two organisations, the Doorstep Library and ‘IntoUniversity’, which support disadvantaged young people living in London.  Alison is a member of the Radley Schools Group and acts as a local advisor to Chandlings Prep School.

Alison lives in Charlbury with her husband Patrick.
