HRH The Earl of Wessex visits Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) (virtual visit)

HRH The Earl of Wessex joined a special virtual meeting that highlighted how Oxfordshire is leading the way in global innovation. Business leaders, entrepreneurs and apprentices from across the county were part of the meeting which was hosted by the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership. Topics ranged from quantum computing to the creation of the Covid-19 vaccine.

Welcomed to the meeting by Brian Buchan, the Vice Lord-Lieutenant, HRH was introduced to OxLEP’s chair, Jeremy Long and Chief Executive Nigel Tipple. HRH spoke with Ilana Wisby, CEO of Oxford Quantum Circuits, Professor Sarah Gilbert who heads up the Covid-19 vaccine programme for the University of Oxford and Jason Kingsley OBE, owner and CEO of Rebellion, a production company based in Didcot.

HRH then spoke to apprentices from the Clinical BioManufacturing Facility which is part of the Jenner Institute, GKN Automotive which is based in Abingdon and the CEO of Hutano Diagnostics, a disease diagnostic company based at the Oxford Bioescalator.
