HRH The Princess Royal attends The Butler Trust Awards

Her Royal Highness has been Patron of The Butler Trust since 1985. Due to the Covid pandemic, the Awards ceremonies had to be cancelled so this year’s ceremony involved 85 award winners. The Butler Trust works to promote good practice in the prison service, sharing knowledge and supporting staff morale, particularly during what has been and still is a challenging time for those working in the sector.

Met on arrival by Her Honour Ann Campbell DL, HRH was introduced to Michael Spurr, the Chair of the Butler Trust. Mr Spurr escorted HRH to the Sheldonnian Theatre auditorium where she presented awards to prison staff. Following the Award ceremony, HRH went to Keble College for a short reception where she was given the opportunity to meet with the award winners and their families, as well as others who work in the sector.
