HRH The Princess Royal attends The Oxford Farming Conference

In a change from previous years, HRH attended the Oxford Union Debate and Conference Dinner held at Christ Church College.  Met by Tim Stevenson, HRH watched the debate on the motion “This house believes cheap food is worth the price”.

On conclusion of the debate, HRH walked to Christ Church College for the Post-Debate Supper.  Tim Stevenson presented The Dean of Christ Church, The Very Reverend Martyn Percy and his wife The Reverend Canon Dr Emma Percy, who is Welfare Dean and Chaplain of Trinity College.  Over pre-supper drinks, HRH had the opportunity to meet the debate speakers and a number of the Farming Conference speakers.

Following supper, HRH was invited to speak on the Conference theme for 2020: “Growing a Healthy Society” and announced the winner of the Oxford Farming Conference Debate, who she presented a bottle of champagne to.
