The Princess of Wales and The Princess Royal visit Oxfordshire

Oxfordshire was firmly on the Royal map this week as we had the rare privilege of welcoming two senior Members of the Royal Family on the same day, October 9th 2025. The Lord-Lieutenant received The Princess of Wales at the Rose Hill Community Centre in Oxford. HRH met volunteers from Home-Start Oxford and several families who benefit from their life-changing services. The visit, supported by the Royal Foundation, shone a light on the power of our community and the importance of the early years stage of a child’s development.

Earlier in the day, the Lord-Lieutenant received The Princess Royal at Didcot Station before her engagements with the WI in Carterton and at RAF Brize Norton. HRH visited the newly refurbished WI Hall to mark their Centenary, before going on to RAF Brize Norton, as Honorary Air Commodore, to commemorate the 110th Anniversary of XXIV Squadron.

Days like these remind us how brilliantly Royal visits can lift spirits, celebrating the exceptional people, organisations and communities that make Oxfordshire such a remarkable County.
