The Duke of Edinburgh visits Oxfordshire

The Lord-Lieutenant was delighted to welcome The Duke of Edinburgh to Chipping Norton and Ditchley on February 12th 2025. His Royal Highness started his visit at the much-loved Chipping Norton Theatre where he met staff and Patrons and saw how this remarkable independent theatre supports and entertains the local community. His Royal Highness then made a short walk through the market to the Branch in the newly-restored NatWest Bank building which provides a community Hub to serve those in need in Chipping Norton and the surrounding villages. His Royal Highness met staff and volunteers and toured the building before unveiling a plaque to officially open this impressive building.

His Royal Highness concluded his visit at Ditchley Park where he met key representatives from a group of Oxfordshire organisations focused on climate, renewable energy and environmental issues. A busy and inspiring day which illustrates just how effective a Royal Visit can be in shine a light on individuals and organisations in the County.
