His Majesty The King visits Oxfordshire
The Lord-Lieutenant was delighted to receive His Majesty The King on Friday 10th July for a varied day of engagements which illustrated the extraordinary breadth of activity and talent in our County.
His Majesty arrived in the blistering sunshine to officially open the Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities before attending Oriel College’s 700th anniversary gathering as Visitor and visiting University College.
The King then travelled to Harwell Campus, where he toured RAL Space and officially opened the new UK Space and Defence Gateway, meeting leading figures from across the sector, including British astronaut Tim Peake.
It was a privilege to welcome His Majesty and showcase the exceptional people and institutions that drive the innovation at the heart of our County.
