The Princess Royal visits Oxfordshire
The Princess Royal visited a much loved Oxfordshire company on Thursday 9 July 2026. Local schoolchildren lined the route and the Hook Norton Brass Band played as Her Royal Highness’s car arrived at Hook Norton Brewery, where she was received by the Lord-Lieutenant.
Her Royal Highness toured the historic brewery, met staff and members of the local community, and unveiled a plaque marking the restoration of its stables following their devastating fire in 2024. The Princess was particularly pleased to see the Shire Horses who looked resplendent in their smart kit and remarkably composed in the heat. A happy occasion celebrating a new chapter for the Brewery and their contribution to the community over several generations.
Later, as Royal Patron of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, The Princess Royal attended a reception at Blenheim Palace. Her Royal Highness met and thanked the MND Association’s inspiring volunteers for their dedication to supporting people affected by motor neurone disease.
A memorable day - and particular credit to everyone involved for managing the baking heat!
