Christ Church’s Shrove Tuesday Pancake Race

Organised by Clare Hayns, College Chaplain and Welfare Coordinator, and involving both College and Cathedral, Christ Church’s annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Race takes place on Tom Quad, and raises money for a chosen charity each year.

Teams pay £10 to enter the race, which will be added to the £1200 already raised so far through the College’s JustGiving page. This will be donated to the Red Cross emergency appeal for those affected by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Eleven teams took part in the race.

Sir Tom Shebbeare DL attended to present the medals to the winning team. For the first time in the race’s five year history, the college’s hall staff were victorious!
