Angus Horner

Angus grew up in Kent, attending a local grammar school; studied Rural Land Management and then qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1998.  He worked across UK and a little in Europe, before establishing his own company, Prorsus, in 2009.

In 2013 Angus invested in the private sector half of the Harwell Campus Partnership, alongside HM Government.  He was a shareholder and also served as Campus Director 2013-2021, co-creating and stewarding its 4 Technology Clusters, before stopping to focus on new projects inside the UK Knowledge Economy.  Angus is a firm believer in the power of research and innovation to deliver improved health, economic and social wellbeing, plus a well planet.

Current Oxfordshire roles include: Deputy Chair of Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Member of the Future Oxfordshire Partnership Board, Director of Didcot First, Member of the Oxfordshire Inclusive Economy Partnership Steering Group, Advisory Group Member of the Didcot Powerhouse Charitable Fund, Board Member of the UK Fusion Energy Cluster (HQ at Culham) and Trustee of Be Free Young Carers. 

Other recent roles include: Governor of St Birinus School (2016-23), Member of the UK Vaccines Manufacturing & Innovation Centre’s Principals Group (2020-22) and Co-chair the Supercharging Innovation Places Task Force with the Science Minister.

He enjoys sport, having surfed 8 countries, played Sevenoaks Men’s Hockey 1st XI and Qualified Elite Men UK Triathlons.

Angus lives with his wife and two young children on their small conservation focused farm.
