Alison Derham

Alison embarked on a teaching career after graduating from Cambridge in 1981, working in a south London maintained secondary school.

Since then, whilst raising a family, she has specialised in teaching pupils with learning differences.  Always keen to reduce the gap between those who have educational advantages and those who do not, Alison has worked on a variety of projects which reflect this ethos. They include The Bradby Youth Club in Rugby, volunteering at schools and orphanages in India, volunteering with the Doorstep Library and IntoUniversity in London and a recent involvement with a local initiative to help children close the gap after the pandemic.
