Jane Cranston

After a short spell in France, Jane worked in London for 20 years before moving the wine merchant she co-owned to Oxford.  She has now retired from the business.

Jane takes an active role in local affairs.   For many years she was a Governor of the School of St Helen & St Katherine (where she was also Chairman), Abingdon School, Abingdon Prep School and the Manor Prep School.   

She was appointed High Sheriff of Oxfordshire for the year 2017/18.

She has also been a Trustee of Vale House, a leading care home for those with advanced dementia.

She is now Independent Chair of the Oxfordshire Homeless Movement (a group working to bring together some 60 different organisations that work in the Homeless sector across the county), Chair of the charity Youth Challenge Oxfordshire (YoCO) and a Governor of Appleton Church of England Primary School.   She is also Chairman of her local village shop, Chairman of her Parish Meeting and a member of the PCC.

Jane lives in Besselsleigh and is a member of the Vale of White Horse DL group.
